Slowly getting back into it
Today’s contribution is that rap music officially sucks (again). There was a stigma around it in the 90s, it became cool in the 00’s, and now it. just. sucks. Listened to Lil’ Wayne’s “Rebirth” album today. Highly anticipated by Weezy listeners everywhere, I hope the rest weren’t as disappointed as I was. The theme of this new album was a sort of new rock/rap genre. Lil’ Wayne needs to quit trying to be emo and get back into rappin’ about cars clothes and … well, you catch my drift. Careful not to generalize my thoughts on Weezy’s album. What has become the “normal” subject (usually derogatory) of current rap music is far from agreeable, but it certainly should not be taken in the direction Lil’ Wayne’s new album attempts to take it in. Screamo and a T-Pain voiceover do not mix.
