Slowly getting back into it

February 8, 2010

Today’s contribution is that rap music officially sucks (again). There was a stigma around it in the 90s, it became cool in the 00’s, and now it. just. sucks. Listened to Lil’ Wayne’s “Rebirth” album today. Highly anticipated by Weezy listeners everywhere, I hope the rest weren’t as disappointed as I was. The theme of this new album was a sort of new rock/rap genre. Lil’ Wayne needs to quit trying to be emo and get back into rappin’ about cars clothes and … well, you catch my drift. Careful not to generalize my thoughts on Weezy’s album. What has become the “normal” subject (usually¬†derogatory) of current rap music is far from agreeable, but it certainly should not be taken in the direction Lil’ Wayne’s new album attempts to take it in. Screamo and a T-Pain voiceover do not mix.
